Production Assistant
SUMMARY
We are searching for a new member of our small and talented team to help us bring Roadside Terroir into a new era! We are looking to add an assistant producer to be a part of all aspects of our podcast production lifecycle. You would help our team in diverse tasks including fundraising, episode research, content review, scheduling, episode release communication, and events. You are the perfect fit for this position if you are an enthusiastic lover of all things wine and terroir, a podcast consumer, passionate about learning and sharing knowledge, and have a collaborative and enthusiastic spirit.

You will be encouraged (and paid!) to research and learn about wine, farming and history and have the opportunity to interact with top experts and producers around the world. In this position you will be encouraged to learn new skills, try new things, and grow according to your individual interests and goals
This position will absolutely require someone who can manage their own time. This remote, part-time position has the potential to grow as the podcast grows and is open to applicants from anywhere on the globe.

Roadside Terroir is an audio travel guide for wine lovers who want to dig into the world of geology, wine, and terroir. Our host, Brenna Quigley, takes you on a road trip through your favorite wine regions around the world as she explores their unique geologic history, culture, people, and wines. For the past two seasons we have created elaborate stories of place in both Santa Barbara County and Burgundy’s Cote d’Or. Starting in 2025, Roadside Terroir will expand its podcast production and platform to include new content in various forms including the detailed high-quality episodes we are known for while integrating more bonus content, farming-focused content, and shorter regional seasons in order to cover more topics, people, and stories from around the world. This new era of the podcast will focus on engaging more intently with our listeners and dedicated club of Roadside Insiders with exclusive bonus content, events, travel, and outreach.

ROADSIDE TERROIR is looking for a Podcast Production Assistant to join our team. This role will serve to assist in all aspects of creation, production, and distribution of RT LLC podcasts and management of the Roadside Insiders club.

Assist with pre-production tasks such as scheduling, travel logistics, and topic research

Review raw audio, quality check final episodes, and build creative bonus content
-
Assist in fundraising and events including planning and communication
-
​Manage basic website upkeep as new episodes are released
- Manage Insider members to encourage communications and engagement
-
This remote position will initially require 10-15 hours per week, with the possibility to grow over time.

Travel is not required, but opportunities are likely
-
Hourly rate will depend on applicant background and qualifications.

2 years professional experience in the wine industry or equivalent knowledge – this can be in any area of the industry. This position will require a mature understanding of the global wine industry including important regions, wines, producers, and personalities.

Interest and enthusiasm in geology and podcasts is essential, but no experience is necessary
-
Strong organizational skills, able to schedule meetings, track production calendars and keep yourself and team members on schedule.

Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Able to work effectively both collaboratively and independently.

Excited to learn new skills and try new things while being able to juggle a variety of tasks
-
Ability to maintain a high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Sufficient technical ability including: website updates (Wix), Mailchimp, and Google Docs​
